Tracking macros & sub-IDs

Theory Rd. uses one macro syntax — {curly} — and five sub-ID slots for channel, campaign, ad set, ad, and placement.

Theory Rd. standardizes on {curly} macros. Your offer destination URL can include any of these — they are substituted at redirect time:

  • {click_id} — the unique click id (also {tid})
  • {sub1}–{sub5} — your passthrough slots
  • {gclid}, {fbclid}, {ttclid}, {msclkid} — ad-platform click ids

The sub-ID standard

  • sub1 — channel (facebook, google, tiktok, email…)
  • sub2 — campaign id
  • sub3 — ad set / ad group id
  • sub4 — ad / creative id
  • sub5 — placement / publisher / audience
